A REDDITCH woman has transformed her life after shedding a whopping 103lb.
With a waist size of 42 inches and weighing in at 18st 5lb, Jackie Hope had health complications that were worsening as she piled on the pounds.
After trying a variety of diets including everything from the Cambridge diet to liquid lunches, the 68-year-old went to see her doctor in a last ditch attempt to slim down.
"I was having a hard time with my breathing and my diabetes was all over the place. I went to my doctor and he told me by losing weight my health would really improve," Mrs Hope said.
She was given 12 free sessions at WeightWatchers and joined the group at the Ecumenical Centre in Redditch town centre.
"The members and leader Debbie were so friendly, kind and supportive. One day it all just started to click and the weight began to fall off me. I love food and I still got to eat and enjoy it but in the correct way," she said.
Now less than a year later, the Abbeydale resident is a much lighter 11 stone. And although her waist size has decreased, her confidence continues to grow.
"I not only look better but I feel amazing. I've become more and more independent and can do the little everyday things that I used to struggle with.
"I've been able to stop taking by diabetes medication and reduce my bronchial medication and I've got so much more energy."
Although she suffers from emphysema, her oxygen capacity has also increased meaning she now uses her oxygen machine less.
"Everyone is saying how great I look and my sister even screamed when she first saw me. I'm just so pleased with the results."
She added she still keeps an old pair of green jeans as a reminder of how far she has come.
"They are hanging in my wardrobe as I open the door so I always see them and they will keep me determined to keep the weight off."
WeightWatchers group leader, Debbie Onions said she was extremely proud of Jackie.
"She's been such a huge inspiration to me and other members of the meeting. She is proof you can lose weight and keep it off and still enjoy life."
To join the WeightWatchers group visit the Ecumenical Centre on Evesham Walk on Saturdays at 10am.
