A FINALIST from hit television show Any Dream Will Do has helped a Redditch based drama group find their leading man and lady for their upcoming production of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.
Rob McVeigh gave up his time to be guest judge during auditions for The Harlequins Drama Group's production of the show which is being staged at the Palace Theatre in June next year.
Although unsuccessful in his own bid to appear in Joseph on the West End, Mr McVeigh has performed in several hit shows since and was able to provide valuable advice and assistance to audition hopefuls as well as help make the final selection for the roles of Joseph and Narrator.
Craig McDowall and Stephanie Westwood were selected as the successful applicants and will take the lead in the production next year.
The Harlequins are now looking for more young performers to join the cast of Joseph and are hosting a free open workshop for anyone interested in learning more about the group or enrolling in the show.
It takes place on Sunday, January 6 at Woodrow Community Centre and is open to anyone aged four to 18-years-old. Sessions take place for four to seven-year-olds between 12pm and 1pm and 1pm and 3pm for eight to 18-year-olds.
To attend the open workshop call 01527 570073 or visit www.theharlequins.co.uk for more information.
Mr McVeigh will be working alongside The Harlequins again on their summer school production of Oliver as Bill Sykes, for which applications are now open.
