Top festive street names revealed

SOME Redditch residents have an extra reason to feel festive as they live on one of the 560 streets across the Midlands which have a Christmas themed name.

Research by Royal Mail has revealed there are over 3,369 festive named streets in the UK, with the majority in this region.

Holly Street is the top name nationally with almost 990 listings but others include Christmas Pie Avenue, Myrrh Street, Jingles Lane, Bethlehem Way, Garland Place and Sleigh Drive.

Roads in Redditch with Christmas connections include Partridge Lane, Hollyberry Close, Goosehill Close, Fir Tree Close, Deerhurst Close and Bell Lane in Studley, which is the second most popular listing nationally. There is also Chestnut Court and St Nicholas Close in Alcester.

Royal Mail is also reminding people last posting dates for Christmas are Thursday (December 20) for First Class, Tuesday (December 18) for Second Class, while the date for Special Delivery items is Saturday (December 22).
