Hi: 14° Lo:3° 7 day

THERE was more national success for four senior Redditch Swimming Club members as they scooped medals at the ASA British Gas National Masters Championships in Sheffield.
Club captains Paul Wilkes and Laura Cranshaw were both champions in the 25-29 years age group, with Wilkes winning the 200m butterfly by a clear four seconds and Cranshaw taking the 100m breaststroke title and also winning a silver medal in the 100m individual medley.
There were also silver medals for Vicki Bates (25-29 years) in the 50m freestyle and for Alison Willis (40-44 years) in the 100m individual medley.
RSC head coach Chris Britt said: "Redditch Swimming Club is widely recognised as having one of the strongest squads of junior swimmers in the region, but it is great to see such success for some of our masters swimmers and this demonstrates that we now have great strength across the age groups.
"Well done to Paul, Laura, Vicki and Alison who continually set such a great example for our younger swimmers.
"All four will be among the Redditch swimmers competing for Worcester County at the ASA National Inter-County Masters Championships in Stafford on Sunday and their current good form bodes well for the county team."
