IT WILL be a day to remember for one special Redditch baby who was born on 12.12.12.

Baby boy Kailan was delivered by proud mum Elly Spiers at the Alexandra Hospital on the remarkable date which will not occur again for 100 years.

Weighing a healthy 7lb 1oz he arrived on his predicted due date at 2am on Wednesday.

It was not the first time the family celebrated a unique birth date as new-mum Elly was born on 6.6.96 weighing just 6lb.

She said: "I was so excited to have him on that date. At first I thought he would come earlier and then I thought he was going to be much later, so when I went in to labour I got really excited. It even started snowing."

Grandmother Jayne Spiers added: "Everyone has been cooing over him and the staff at the Alex were amazing. He's gorgeous and I'm so proud."
