A VAN was set alight and a car was damaged in Redditch over the weekend.

During the first incident, a white LDV panel van was parked outside Studley Road Social Club between 9pm last Friday (December 7) and 9am the following morning (Saturday) when it was broken in to.

Part of the dashboard and one of the seats were melted when it was set alight, the windscreen was cracked, a loading door was ripped off and a Tom Tom sat nav and tools in a yellow and black toolbox on wheels were taken from inside.

In a separate incident, a silver Vauxhall Vectra was targeted in Rookery Close in Headless Cross between 3pm and 5.30pm on Saturday.

Damage estimated at £800 was caused when it was scratched from the driver's side front wing all the way along the car to the rear brake light.
