THE FAMOUS jazz singer known as the musical ambassador of New Orleans is set to star in a free concert.

Lillian Boutte will be visiting Redditch to perform at the event at St Stephen’s Church on Friday (December 7) at 7pm.

For 25 years, she has been capturing the hearts and ears of listeners performing her special brand of R’n’B, jazz and gospel.

More recently, she and her band have been hosting singing workshops for children of all ages, with a focus on bringing these to children with special needs.

The Everybody Let’s Sing Christmas concert in the town centre will follow workshops with the children at Pitcheroak School who will perform in the evening. Others appearing at the event will include The Salvation Army, Alvechurch Community Choir and Pitcheroak Staff choir.

Admission is free and all are welcome.
