Distinctive BMW worth £25,000 stolen from driveway

Thursday 29 November 2012 Updated: 29/11 17:21

A CAR worth £25,000 was stolen from a Redditch home in a car key burglary.

The metallic grey BMW M3, which has a distinctive black carbon roof and registration D11 RFN, was taken from the driveway of a property in Runcorn Close between 2am and 7am on Wednesday (November 28).

Thieves first broke into the house to steal the keys and also took some small items including a purse and mobile phone.

Det Con Colin Millward of Redditch CID said: "We understand it's very unusual for this model to have a black carbon roof and that makes it quite distinctive, even if false plates have now been put on to it.

"We would like to hear from anyone living near there who saw or heard any suspicious activity in the early hours yesterday, including any vehicles that might have been parked in unusual circumstances.

"Obviously if someone thinks they have seen this car since it was stolen, knows where it is now or who might have been involved in taking it, then we would like them to come forward and talk to us."

Anyone with any information should call officers at Redditch CID on the non-emergency number 101, quoting incident reference 64-S-281112. Details can also be given anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
