THE REDDITCH United Schools Cup final takes centre stage at the Valley Stadium on Monday evening when teams from Walkwood and St Bede's middle schools do battle.
The St Bede's team will be bidding to ensure the trophy remains at Holloway Lane after their school's side won the cup in 2011 with victory over Woodrush.
A St Bede's team was also in the final in the cup's inaugural year in 2010 when Walkwood prevailed in an exciting contest at the home of the Reds.
The Schools Cup was first organised in 2010 by TRUST (the Redditch United Supporters Club) in liaison with the club and Redditch Sports Partnership and was intended to further strengthen the club's links with the community, which chairman and vice-chairman Chris and Sallie Swan have been doing since taking over.
The Schools Cup final has been well attended on each occasion so far by both pupils and parents and this year's showpiece kicks-off at 6.30pm and everyone is welcome to attend.
The competition sees year eight teams from the middle schools in Redditch play each other in two leagues organised by Redditch Sports Partnership, with a play-off to decide who goes through to the final.
The final then sees the youngsters enjoy use of the first team changing rooms, qualified referees, the presentation of the cup and winners/runners-up medals, as well as a man of the match award.
Reds' chairman Chris Swan will present the cup and medals and United manager Simon Redhead will decide the man of the match.
Walkwood booked their place in the final with victory over Birchensale and St Bede's saw off Ridgeway.
