A seasonal selection

THE CHANCE to get into the festive spirit is on offer at Redditch’s Palace Theatre next week with three fantastic Christmas shows.

Next Thursday (November 22) at 7.30pm the music of Sinatra, Martin and Davis Junior will be recreated in a fabulous show that brings the glamour and excitement of the Las Vegas experience to vivid life.

The Rat Pack Swinging Christmas Show comes direct from London’s Leicester Square Theatre, The 02 Arena and a Royal Command Performance and features David Alacey (Lovejoy and Inspector Alleyn), Des Coleman (Lenny from EastEnders) and Paul Drakeley (Inside Out -BBC) working their way through classics hits such as My Way, Mr Bojangles, New York New York, Amore, Come Fly With Me and more.

They will be joined by special guest Kenny Lynch.

Tickets cost £18 or £17 concessions.

The day after on Friday, November 23 at 7.30pm it is time to warm up the vocal chords for Carols by Candlelight with The Locrian Ensemble.

Firmly established as one of Britain’s most popular touring groups, their Christmas show is the hottest ticket in their calendar.

In lavish period costume, and in front of an evocative candlelit setting, these charismatic performers belt out favourites including carols, string medleys of familiar Xmas tunes, and seasonal surprises.

They will be joined by the evergreen Jill Washington, West End star soprano of Phantom of the Opera, who sings tunes from Handel’s Messiah to White Christmas, the 12 Days of Christmas and Walking in the Air, accompanied by shimmering strings and thrilling harp playing. This is the ideal way to get into the true spirit of Christmas.

Tickets cost £18 or £17 concessions.

Then finally on Saturday, November 24 - exactly a month before Santa arrives - the most successful and popular touring show of its kind brings its festive spectacular Beyond the Barricade at Christmas to Redditch.

Recreating original West End/Broadway musical hit songs with amazing authenticity, the show features a cast of past principal performers from the West End production of Les Miserables, and the recent 25th Anniversary Concert at the 02 Arena.

The production includes songs from Miss Saigon, The Lion King, Phantom Of The Opera, Chess, West Side Story, Blood Brothers, The Jersey Boys and many more.

And being close to Christmas, you can be sure there will be a few Festive favourites on offer to get you in the mood.

Tickets cost £18.50 for the 7.30pm show. To book tickets for all or any of the three shows visit www.redditchpalacetheatre.co.uk or call the box office on 01527 65203.
