HEAVY rain throughout this morning (Wednesday) has led to road closures across Redditch and the surrounding area.
Roads currently confirmed as closed by Worcestershire County Council include Holloway Lane in Lodge Park, Astwood Lane in Feckenham, Peterbrook Road in Wythall and Icknield Street at the junction of Primrose Hill in Alvechurch.
Feckenham First School has also been closed today due to flooding on the surrounding roads. It is not yet known when the school is expected to reopen.
The bad weather prompted fire chiefs to urge motorists to drive with caution.
Although the rain has cleared throughout the afternoon, Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service station commander Alan Haley warned drivers they should remain cautious while driving through any remaining flood water.
As well as the risk of damage to the car, there may be hazards under the water which are not visible.
Mr Haley said: "We are urging all motorists to exercise caution if they find themselves driving through flood water."
