A MAN has appeared in court charged in connection with a stabbing outside a Redditch nightclub.

Joe Mooney, aged 30 and of Albert Close in Studley, appeared before Redditch Magistrates' Court on Monday (November 12) charged with wounding with intent.

It followed an incident outside Club Moo Moo in Church Road in the early hours of Saturday (November 10) which led to another man, aged 22, being taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham with a serious stab wound to his back. He is currently still there in a stable condition.

Mooney was arrested shortly after the incident and charged later the same day.

He remains in custody pending a bail hearing at Worcester Crown Court on Tuesday (November 13).
