YOBS hurled racist abuse at a taxi driver before hauling him out of his car and attacking him.
It happened about 12.30am on Saturday (November 3) on Bromsgrove Road as the driver stopped to let four youths out of the taxi outside Oasis Dental Care.
He had earlier picked the group up from the Red Lion pub in Enfield Road just after midnight and while they were in the taxi they made various racial comments directed at him.
As the driver pulled over to let them out, the youths dragged him from his seat and assaulted him leaving him with bruising and facial injures. The driver was taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham for treatment.
The four youths are all described as white and are thought to be in their mid to late teens.
Det Sgt Gary Mole, of Redditch CID, said: "This was a nasty attack which appears to have been unprovoked.
"We would like to hear from anyone who remembers seeing this group of youths in the Red Lion pub at about midnight or thinks they saw the assault taking place shortly afterwards in Bromsgrove Road."
Anyone with any information should contact Det Sgt Mole at Redditch Police Station on the non-emergency number 101, quoting incident reference 645-S-031112, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
