A SHOP worker was threatened with a hammer and a knife during a robbery in Astwood Bank.

The robber entered The Bank Convenience Store in Feckenham Road at 7.20am on Sunday (October 28), demanding the man working in the store handed over money and cigarettes.

The cashier handed over the items which the offender placed in a red plastic sports bag before leaving the store and heading off in the direction of Evesham Road.

The robber was white, in his late teens or early 20s and was dressed all in black with a white cloth or scarf across his face.

Det Con Dave Jennings said: "The offender entered the store just as a customer was leaving so we are eager to trace this person as they may be able to help us identify the robber."

Anyone with any information should call detectives at Redditch Police Station on 101, quoting incident number 205-S-281012, or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
