RESIDENTS at Keats House in Headless Cross brewed up £234.93 for Macmillan Cancer Support as part of the charity's World's Biggest Coffee morning.
The event was supported by Mayor Alan Mason who popped in on Saturday (September 29) for a hot drink and a tasty treat.
The sheltered housing scheme regularly holds social events and is encouraging members of the wider public to come and join them at the Mason Road venue.
Activities include coffee mornings on Mondays between 10am and 11am, bingo every Wednesday from 6.15pm to 8pm and regular fish and chip lunches and tea and cake afternoons.
For more information call Frank and Margaret Applin on 01527 460064.
The event was one of several held across the borough by individuals, companies and organisations in support of the charity fundraiser.
Former Redditch mayors Kath banks and Anita Clayton joined forces to hold their own coffee morning.
Mrs Clayton hosted the event at her home in Winyates Green while Mrs Banks helped by baking cakes.
Relatives, friends, neighbours and councillors popped in to enjoy a cuppa and raise about £150.
"Macmillan Cancer Support is a charity close to my heart and I was happy to help support the excellent work the nurses do for people who are suffering from cancer," Mrs Clayton said.
