Hi: 18° Lo:11° 7 day

A UNIQUE telling of Charles Dickens’ classic Oliver Twist is being performed in a one man show at Artrix.
Following the success of last year’s award-winning box office hit, A Christmas Carol - As told by Jacob Marley (deceased), James Hyland returns to the Bromsgrove venue with his adaption of the much-loved tale called Fagin’s Last Hour.
It follows the story as told from the view of Fagin the Miser just one hour before his execution. The show will offer a unique, powerful and fresh insight into literature’s most controversial villain.
As with a Christmas Carol, Hyland will use voice and stance to bring the various characters to life and offer the audience a totally different perspective on a book everyone thought they knew.
When it debuted in the West End is was described as a ‘gripping dramatic tour de force’ by The International Dickens Fellowship and according to The Dickensian not only conveys the horror of Dickens’ original novel but likewise ‘succeeds in
presenting Fagin as a complex human being.’
Hyland won best performer in theatre at the Fringe Report Awards last year for his version of A Christmas Carol and Fagin’s Last Hour promises to be just as gripping.
The show takes place on Friday, October 12 at 8pm. Tickets cost £12 or £10 concessions. Visit www.artrix.co.uk or call 01527 577 330 to book.
