FIVE members of the Jump Rope UK squad travelled to Glasgow earlier this month to represent the club in the British Masters Championships and the Studley-based club came away with a new UK champion to its name.
Olivia Beattie, Amy Gerrard and Caitlin Spiers represented the club in the novice under 11s category in which they performed brilliantly in a strong field of 22 competitors to finish in eighth, ninth and tenth places.
Lauren Shepherd and Stacie Pegg competed in the senior female national category in which Stacie won silver and Lauren clinched gold, making her the new senior female champion in the UK.
The following day 40 participants from several clubs took part in a training day ran by Rachael Dale, Beci Dale, Gemma McGhee and Laura Summers, Jump Rope UK's senior coaches.
Thanks go to Rachael for organising and leading the training day and to Beci, Laura and Gemma for judging on the competition day.
Meanwhile, Rachael is organising a Jump Rope UK Festival on Sunday, May 19 next year at Lilleshall National Sports Centre.
Anyone/school interested in finding out more details on the event or Jump Rope UK in general can contact Sue Dale at info@jumpruk.com.
