KIWI opening bowler Te Ahu Davis grabbed a five wicket haul to earn Studley a 50 run victory over fellow Birmingham League Division Three strugglers Lichfield on Saturday.
Studley, who were inserted by the visitors, made a satisfactory start through openers Omaad Nazir (24) and Chris Moss (38).
But once they were parted wickets fell at regular intervals with Brandon Miller (16) and Davis (30) the only other batsmen to reach double figures as the innings ended on a disappointing 152.
Dean Price, who returned 4-9 from five overs, proved Lichfield’s most successful bowler with James Sarginson 2-22, Thomas Stone 2-31 and James Wilkinson 2-31 offering good support.
Lichfield had no answer to Studley’s opening attack of Davis and Johar Ahmed who quickly made inroards to the reply.
Davis claimed 5-44 from 13.3 overs and Ahmed chipped in with 2-30, while Mark Swanick, skipper Stuart Harris and Andrew Rhodes also picked up one wicket apiece as the visitors were skittled out for 102 midway through the 33rd over.
Studley entertain rock-bottom Coleshill tomorrow (Saturday) before travelling to eighth placed Penn on Monday.
