Studley Castle was sold for £4.5million on Monday (August 22) to the Firoka Group, which owns a number of other hotels as well as Oxford United Football Club.
STUDLEY Castle has been forced to close for up to two weeks after masonry fell from the roof.
Fire crews were called to the Castle Road hotel about 10.47am on Tuesday (August 14) following the incident which saw some masonry become dislodged, damaging a ceiling.
Guests were evacuated and firefighters from Alcester cordoned off the area while a structural engineer was called.
The hotel was closed for the night and guests booked in were contacted to find alternative accommodation.
A spokeswoman for Best Western, which runs the hotel, said the damage was accidental and the building would remain closed until August 26 for repairs.
"All guests due to stay during this time are being contacted by Best Western and the hotel directly."
