THE END of the holy month of Ramadan was celebrated by women across Redditch.
An Iftar party was held at the Sandycroft Centre last Thursday (August 9) where those present joined together to break their fast.
Tanweer Dean, outreach development worker, said: “It was a great party. We had women of all nationalities and they all brought along some food.
“We talked about Ramadan and the Muslim festival of Eid and everybody had a great time.”
Coun Rebecca Blake added: “It was an honour to join the British Asian Women’s Group at the Sandycroft Centre for their Iftar party.
“It’s hard to imagine going without food or drink for the hours of daylight for a month and I admire the discipline of those who fast.
“The women had made a wonderful feast which was well earned and enjoyed by all. I wish the Muslim community Ramadan Mubarak.”
