A VOLUNTEER is needed to help keep one of the town's famous landmarks running.
Forge Mill Needle Museum is looking for an an active person to assist the millwright in greasing the bearings of the historic wheel and start up the machine.
Other responsibilities would include ensuring water routes are clean and the machine is working safely to protect staff and visitors.
They would need to be available four hours per week as well as on any special occasions and pre-booked tours.
Training and mentoring will be provided but previous experience of working with historic machinery would be useful. A CRB check will be required.
Gillian Crawley, museum and visitor centre manager, said: "We are looking for someone who is practical and likes to work with their hands but who also has an understanding and appreciation for why keeping the mill operational is important.
"We hope the volunteer we take on will have an on-going commitment to this unique and internationally significant heritage site and appreciate the history behind the works that they will be assisting with."
