AN RSPCA fundraiser is calling on residents to take a leap and join her in raising money for a new animal centre.
Helen Tuite, of Church Hill, will be running this year's Great Birmingham Run to raise money for the new animal re-homing centre and hospital in Frankley, which is currently being built.
The 13.1 mile run will take place on October 21 and after recovering from a foot operation in November, community fundraiser Helen, said she needs all the help she can get.
"I have been training little by little and have finally managed a five mile run, but with two screws in my foot now, it's certainly not as easy as it used to be. I hope I'll be up to scratch by the big day", she said.
"But I wont give up and I would like the people of Redditch to join me and raise as much as we can for such a great cause. I'd love to run with people who care about animals the way I do."
The closing date for applications is August 13 and to join Helen call her on 07715 540518, or to sponsor her visit www.justgiving.com/helentuite-oct2012.
