STAFF at a town supermarket ran a marathon in aid of charity without setting a foot outside of Redditch.

Tesco workers at the store on Coldfield Drive in Oakenshaw joined together to complete the 26.2mile distance, running at least one mile each.

Their efforts were well rewarded as the event raised over £500 for Cancer Research UK - Tesco's chosen charity for 2012.
