THERE were laughs, music and a lot of water as hundreds of people turned out to watch Titan the Robot perform in Redditch Town Centre.

The 8ft tall Cornish creation entertained the crowd which gathered to watch outside St Stephen's Church on Tuesday (July 31) as part of a series of street theatre events run by Redditch Borough Council.

After regaling them with songs from the likes of Frank Sinatra, Louis Armstrong and Tom Jones, Titan cracked some jokes even asking one man 'Who did your hair? The council' before 'exterminating' a group of youngsters by shooting water from his eyes. Afterwards there was a performance by South American samba sensation Glamba.

Other events are taking place in Winyates Shopping Centre on Friday (August 3), Morton Stanley Park on Tuesday (August 7), Overdale Park in Astwood Bank on Friday, August 10 and Batchley Pool on Tuesday, August 14.

Different acts will be performing on the various days between 11am and 3pm.

Visit www.redditchbc.gov.uk for the full line-up. Anyone who missed Titan can catch the show at the recreation ground in Bromsgrove tomorrow (Wednesday) and Wythall Park on Thursday (August 2) between 10am and 2.30pm on both days.
