A WOMAN was attacked in her home by a masked intruder.
The victim was confronted by a man who had gained access to the property on Fulbrook Close through an unsecured communal door.
He then attacked the woman, who did not require medical treatment, before leaving empty handed and making off on foot. The incident happened sometime between 11pm and midnight on Sunday (July 22).
The attacker is thought to be aged between 20 and 30-years-old, had dark hair and dark eyes. He was wearing a grey top with the hood up, black tracksuit bottoms and a black face covering which hid the bottom half of his face.
Police are now carrying out door-to-door inquiries in the Church Hill area.
Residents are also being reminded to ensure doors and windows are secure, even when they are at home.
Det Sgt Lesley Williams, of West Mercia Police, said: "This was traumatic for the victim and we need people to come forward and tell us if they saw a man of this description either at or near the address on Sunday evening or someone hanging about near there in the days leading up to this incident.
"There are a number of interconnecting paths around Fulbrook Close, which the offender may have used to get to the scene, suggesting he has local knowledge."
Anyone with any information is urged to contact Redditch CID by calling 101, quoting incident reference 500-S-240712, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
