STUDLEY were able to celebrate their first positive result of the Birmingham League Division Three season on Saturday as they earned a winning draw at Lichfield.
The visitors earned 16 points for their efforts and, although they remain bottom of the table after six matches, are within touching distance of numerous sides above them in the table as they head to Coleshill tomorrow.
Studley were put into bat and Simon Stamenkovic, Chris Moss, Brandon Miller and Jawaad Nazir all made contributions in the twenties, but the real fireworks came from Kiwi Te Ahu Davis who made an unbeaten 100 to power the visitors to 292-6 from their 55 overs.
Mark Swanick (39) and Omaad Nazir (24no) made excellent contributions down the order and the hosts knew they had their work cut out in order to secure victory.
They made a good start through openers Jonathon Bassett-Graham (55) and Dean Price (87) but, once they had departed, Lichfield fell behind the required run rate and it became a case of avoiding defeat.
John Swanick with 3-35 off eight overs was the most successful Studley bowler as Lichfield closed on 230-6.
