VISITORS will be taken on a trip back in time to the Medieval era as Forge Mill celebrates the Festival of British Archaeology.

On Sunday (July 15) visitors can experience leather working, gardening and take part in archaeology activities.

A leather worker will use traditional tools and methods to demonstrate his craft, while there will also be an opportunity to make an authentic leather pouch.

And a medieval gardener will be holding talks on how various plants found in the herb garden on site are used for food, cosmetics and medicine.

What remains of Bordesley Abbey will be available to explore while an exhibition of paintings by local artist Henry Foster will also show the site at its best.

The event is held from 11am until 14pm and costs £2 for adults with children free.
