Hi: 14° Lo:3° 7 day

STUDLEY bagged their first victory of the Birmingham League Division Three season in a remarkable match at Coleshill on Saturday.
Studley won the toss and decided to bowl on a wicket which was always likely to assist the seamers following the recent wet weather.
The visiting bowlers did not disappoint captain Brandon Miller as they ripped through the Coleshill batting order, dismissing them for just 96 in the 44th over.
Opening bowlers Te Ahu Davis (2-21) and Omaad Nazir (2-24) did the initial damage and then were well backed up by Mark Lewis (3-17) and Stuart Harris (2-8).
The damage could have been even worse for the home side had Phil Trilloe not mustered 34.
However, if Studley had any thoughts of cruising towards their victory target then they were soon put to bed as they were reduced to 18-4.
It was a tense affair throughout the reply but middle order runs from Jawaad Nazir (16), Simon Stamenkovic (13), Ahu Davis (21) and Mark Swanick (24no) proved priceless as Studley scrambled their way to 97-8 in the 36th over.
It was a valiant effort having been 74-8 at one stage and the 20 points for the victory lifted the Washford Fields side off the foot of the table and into tenth place.
With two successive positive results behind them, Studley will be eager to maintain this momentum tomorrow when they host Penn.
