THE DRIVING force behind the campaign to Save The Alex has called on the trust to officially acknowledge the petition signed by over 23,000 people.
Coupons, online and paper petitions backed by residents from Redditch, Alcester, Studley, Bromsgrove and beyond had reached 23,108 as the Standard went to press.
Campaigner Neal Stote said: “So many people in three weeks have said they do not agree with the trust’s proposals to have one A&E for the whole of Worcestershire.
“At what point are the trust going to acknowledge that?
“They need to do it sooner rather than later and seriously reconsider their very limited options. I have been overwhelmed at the response by the public, the support for the hospital services and the backing of what the campaign is calling for and I believe that number will continue to grow.”
