A MAN charged with shooting another man has appeared in court.
Jordan Davis, 27 and of Plymouth Road, entered no plea during the brief hearing at Redditch Magistrates' Court on Tuesday (July 10). He was remanded in custody and is set to stand trial at Worcester Crown Court where he will next appear on October 15.
Davis is alleged to have driven to a car park on Nailsworth Road just outside of Matalan on Saturday morning (July 7) where he is said to have shot a man in his 30s in the arm and chest before driving off. He was arrested about 5.15pm on Sunday (July 8).
Police have now issued a fresh appeal for information about an incident at a town centre nightclub which could be connected to the shooting.
About 2.30am on Saturday (July 7) a group of men were involved in a disagreement at Club Moo Moo on Church Road.
DCI Steve Tonks, the officer leading the investigation, said: "We want to establish who was involved and whether it has any relevance to what happened later in Nailsworth Road. We would ask anyone who was at the club and either saw anything of this incident or knows anything at all about it to contact detectives at Redditch CID."
He added: "It goes without saying this type of situation is very unusual in Redditch but I would like to reassure local people it does appear to be an isolated incident and we believe the two men involved were known to each other."
Anyone with any information about the nightclub incident or relating to the case should call police on the non-emergency 101 number or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
