THIEVES stole a van with more than £3,000 worth of gardening tools in it after sneaking into a house and taking the keys.
Self-employed gardener Keith Morgan is devastated by the theft which happened sometime between last Thursday night and Friday Morning (June 7 to 8).
He returned from a weekend away to find the white Vauxhall Combo van - registration EJ05 NZK - missing from the driveway of his home in Edgmond Close, Winyates West.
His son thought the van had been taken to be worked on by a mechanic and it was only when Mr Morgan asked where it was and they could not find the keys they realised something was wrong.
It is believed the thieves snuck in to the property through an open back door and took the keys along with two bottles of champagne.
The van contained a number of tools essential for Mr Morgan's business including an orange Husqvarna chainsaw, Kawasaki strimmer and red Mountfield mower along with other items such as hedge cutters.
Mr Morgan said he was prepared to offer a small reward for information which led to the return of the van.
"It's wiped me out so I am just going to have to start again. If I can just get the van back that would be a start."
The van was ex-British Telecom and also had faded markings on it when it was previously used by a scaffolding company.
