THE PLAYERS and management of Alvechurch Lions celebrated a very successful campaign with their end of season awards evening at The Crown in Withybed Green.
As well as running away with the Bromsgrove & District Football League Division One title by 12 points, the Lions also won the Centenary and Bridgwater Cups before losing the LMS Shield final to Premier Division opposition.
Further acknowledgment of the team's fantastic season was the award of the Bromsgrove & District Team of the Season honour - voted for by teams in all three divisions of the league - and which saw the Lions take 23 of the 30 available votes.
The team have been promoted to the Premier Division of the league, which is a fantastic achievement in only their second full season.
