A BOROUGH councillor has called for for vandals to be made to clean up the community.

Coun Juliet Brunner spoke out after a dog waste bin was removed from the ground behind homes in Kenchester Close in Matchborough East.

“I cannot understand why someone would want to do this. It is mindless vandalism which has no place in our community,” she added.

“When the culprit is caught I would like to see restorative justice used and let them clean up the community.”

CSO Clive Rainbow said a report of criminal damage had been made but police believed it was an isolated incident.

“We take criminal damage very seriously and always investigate any reports we receive. Anyone caught committing criminal damage will be dealt with accordingly by the police.”

Anyone with information should call police on 0300 333 3000.
