A MAN in his 50s was left with substantial injuries to his face after an altercation with a group of youths at Redditch bus station.
The man was treated at the scene by paramedics for cuts, bruises and swelling following the incident which happened as he walked through the bus station towards the railway station at 5.20pm.
Two youths have been arrested in connected with the altercation and released on police bail until June 30 pending further inquiries.
PC Dave Pengelly said: "This was a violent incident which resulted in some nasty injuries. The man and the youths did not know each other and it is rare for something like this to happen in such a crowded place in broad daylight.
"There were many people there who would have witnessed all or part of what happened and it is vital to our inquiries they come forward."
