A LARGE quantity of cigarettes was stolen after thieves forced open the door to a petrol station shop.

The burglary happened at 10.20pm on Sunday (April 29) at the Tesco fuel station on Coldfield Drive.

A grey Audi A4 estate was seen to pull up on the forecourt shortly before the shop was broken into.

PC Philip Jinks from Redditch police station said: "Although the petrol station shop was shut at the time, there were cars on the forecourt when the burglary happened, possibly using the pay at pump facility.

"If you were one of those people using the station and saw what happened or can offer any more information about the grey Audi, then please get in touch.

"I would also urge anyone who was in the general area and remembers seeing any suspicious vehicles or people in the lead up to the burglary to contact us."

Anyone with any information should call PC Jinks on 0300 333 3000, quoting incident number 837-s-290412, or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
