A MAN has been arrested on suspicion of wounding after an axe attack in Redditch.
Police were called to Ombersley Close shortly after 9.30am today (Monday) after a report a man had been struck with an axe at a bus stop on the Studley Road near the Woodrow Centre.
The victim, who is in his 20s, was taken to the Alexandra Hospital with a head injury which was not thought to be life threatening and a man was arrested shortly afterwards in Woodrow South.
He is currently being questioned by officers at Redditch Police Station while house to house enquiries are carried out, officers are also speaking to local businesses and viewing CCTV footage.
Det Sgt Adam Hartwright of Redditch CID said it was believed to be an isolated incident.
"We are keen to talk to anyone who may have seen or heard anything which they believe may be related to what happened in Woodrow this morning or if they have any information at all which may be useful to our investigation."
