THERE was double medal delight for Redditch-born ace Becky Straw as she produced an impressive performance in elite company at the English Schools' Athletic Association National Cross Country Championships at the weekend.
The Barnt Green athlete headed to the event in Ilton, Somerset, in fine form and maintained her momentum as she ran a very controlled and tactical race to finish in third place.
This is a great achievement for Straw, who also helped the West Midlands team clinch the team silver medal on what was a successful day all round.
Her next race will be in Malta on Tuesday when she represents England in the ISF World Schools Cross Country Championships.
