TRAINING sessions are being held to support residents wanting to hold community events to celebrate the London 2012 Olympics and Paralympics.
Redditch Borough Council is hosting the session at the Town Hall on Thursday (March 8) between 7pm and 9pm where Herefordshire and Worcestershire Sports Partnership will outline the support and advice available.
A Community Games toolkit is also available from the partnership featuring tips and advice for games organisers as well as a host of free resources to help get people started.
Coun Derek Taylor, responsible for leisure on the council, said: "It doesn't have to be a sporting event. There are a range of opportunities such as including it into your local village fête, or school fun day, or charity fun runs the list goes on."
To book a place at the session, register for the toolkit or for more information email l.kerrigan@bromsgroveandredditch.gov.uk or call 01527 881691.
