Poet set to appear

A CHANCE to hear Britain’s poet laureate in full voice is on offer at Artrix in Bromsgrove.

Carol Ann Duffy has made poetry part of the national landscape, and is acclaimed across the world, for her work which is beautiful, heart-rending and funny.

It explores the deepest recesses of human joy and pain, in the tradition of Shakespeare and Donne. She has won numerous awards and was made a CBE in 2001.

Accompanied by musician, composer and actor John Sampson, Carol Ann will read a selection of her work on Friday, February 24 at 8pm.
