REDDITCH MP Karen Lumley swapped the House of Commons for the golden arches on Saturday (January 21) when she took her place behind the counter at McDonald’s.
The MP visited the Oakenshaw branch with borough councillor for the area Gay Hopkins to meet franchisee Robert Holdcroft and staff and even had a go at serving some of the customers.
The visit comes in the week it was announced 2,500 jobs will be created across the UK by the fast-food chain.
Mr Holdcroft said: “Some of the staff were very nervous about working with such high profile visitors. However, Karen and Gay made the staff feel at ease and the morning went very well indeed.”
