Meeting told of concerns

By Catherine Phillips 27/01 Updated: 27/01 10:50

CONCERNED residents spoke to police about anti-social behaviour and drug use during the Woodrow and Greenlands PACT meeting.

People living in the area told police that youths had been entering Auxerre House and causing a nuisance as well as causing damage in a communal area.

There were also reports of drugs being used in some of the houses.

The issues were raised during the Partners and Communities Together meeting on Thursday, January 12.

Local policing officer PC Nigel Bennett said the police were taking action to deal with them.

He said: “We will be patrolling the area to identify those responsible, and members of the public are being asked to contact police if they see groups congregating there, rather than confronting the groups themselves.”

Anyone with information should call the Local Policing Team 0300 333 3000 ext 3859 or email greenlands.lpt@westmercia.pnn.police.uk. They can also call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.

The next meeting will take place on Thursday, February 9 at 7pm at Auxerre House on Auxerre Avenue.
