CDs stolen from car

By Catherine Phillips 20/01 Updated: 20/01 11:24

A DJ had £1,000 worth of CDs and a new television stolen from his car in Redditch.

Thieves broke into the silver Ford Focus parked in a communal car park in Sandhurst Close and took the CDs dating from 1995 to the present, a brand new Sony 32” television and a Garmin Nuvi sat nav worth about £80 along with its holder. The CDs were kept in two silver flight cases, a FIFA 98 black CD wallet, a plain black CD wallet, and a VK Kick string bag which were all taken.

Peter Aston, crime reduction advisor for North Worcestershire, said cars should be parked in a secure garage or on a driveway where possible. “Valuables including sat navs, tools, and other equipment should be removed from vehicles overnight,” he said.

Police want to hear from anyone who may have seen any suspicious activity around the car park or who may have been offered CDs, a Sony television or Garmin sat nav for sale.

Anyone with any information is urged to contact police on 0300 333 3000, quoting reference 411-S-170112, or ring Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
