  • Retiring after 25 years in the business

    THE CHIEF executive of a leading electrical accessories specialist in Bromsgrove has retired after dedicating 25 years to the business.
    Staff at the family run company Byron, said goodbye to Penni Anderson last month, who originally took over the business from her father in 1991.
    At the time Byron was based in Smethwick and was one of the country's leading manufacturers of door bells, chimes and light switches.
    Over the years the company has expanded, relocated and in 2004 celebrated it centenary anniversary,
    The company, which has also recently secured a major new contract with cash and carry giant Makro, will now by run by joint managing directors Rebecca Mander, Mrs Anderson's daughter, and Simon Lane, who has been at the firm for almost 20 years.
