A TOWN centre car retailer is once again sponsoring a police vehicle.
The Redditch Volkswagen dealer, Trust Group, is extending its previous sponsorship of a Golf 1.9 tdi to West Mercia Police Constabulary to assist the force in its community safety and crime prevention work.
West Mercia will receive one of three Golf models allocated to forces in the areas of the group's retail outlets and each one will display the relevant force crest together with Trust's company logo.
The group's managing director, Andrew Hockedy, said: “We are delighted to be working to benefit our local community in such a practical manner and believe that this sponsorship is making a real difference in policing within the various communities.”
PC Mark Townsend, partnerships constable for Redditch, said they were grateful to Trust Group for its generous sponsorship.
"The car will continue to prove a valuable addition to our resources and will undoubtedly make a real difference to the work we do," he said.
"It’s an excellent example of neighbourhood policing working with its local communities and being enhanced by the involvement of local businesses.”
PC Mark Townsend, Trust Group operations director Adrian Wilson and marketing manager Tina Croot sign up for the new deal. (s)
