  • Pet store taken over

    Lianne Cooper

    25 April 2008

A CHAIN of pet stores, with premises in Bromsgrove, have been taken over by retail and agricultural business, Wynnstay.
Since establishing itself in Bromsgrove in 1993, Wilson's Pet Centres Limited has built up a chain of ten stores in locations such as Northfield, Worcester, Droitwich and Accocks Green.
But now the company will be re-branded under Wynnstay's existing pet brand, 'Just for Pets', offering a comprehensive range of pet care products as well as related services such as in-store pet grooming, animal behaviour courses and pet insurance.
Following the completion of the acquisition, the two principal directors of Wilson's Pet Centres, who together have 42 years’ experience of pet supplies retailing, will remain with the business and will lead the on-going development of Wynnstay’s pet products retailing activities.
Bernard Harris, managing director of Wynnstay, said: “Wilson's Pet Centres is a long-established, well-run chain in the West Midlands, with a reputation for efficient and friendly customer service.
"Combining the business with our own is compelling and brings significant benefits.
"I am also pleased the senior management team at Wilson's will remain with the enlarged business, leading its development."
