  • Popular plant sale combines with bridal exhibition

    02 May 2008

THE VILLAGE of Tardibigge's annual May Day weekend celebrations are set to be bigger and better than ever this year with events taking place both tomorrow (Saturday) and on Monday (May 5).
Tomorrow, the village's ever-popular plant sale starts at 11am in the grounds of St Bartholomew's Church and, inside the historic building at the same time, there will be a 'Bridal Nostalgia' gown exhibition. This will include displays from the local flower group, bouquets from nearby stores and wedding outfits from as early as 1800 on show, as well as bridal gowns used by Bromsgrove MP Julie Kirkbride and BBC Midlands Today presenter Suzanne Virdee.
The gowns will also be on display from 12midday until 4pm on Monday, when the village's popular May Day festivities also take place in the church's grounds and in the Community Hall.
This will include Maypole dancing, a children's fancy dress parade, pig roast, stalls, games and inflatables.
For more information on the weekend's activities, call Michelle Stafford on 01527 871501.
