ALL IS set to be revealed at Redditch's Palace Theatre next week as the Ullenhall Players present their latest play, Who Goes Bare, a farcical offering from the pen of Leslie Darbon and Richard Harris.
Directed by the players' Pablo Raybould, the plot is centred in a run-down country health spa run by Eddie Manchip, who has squandered and gambled his way into dept and is struggling to keep his head above water.
Urgent financial investment is needed and a potential source arrives in the form of socialite Nancy McSmith. The only small problem is that she believes she’s investing in a nudist camp and can't wait to join in!
Apart from these day-to-day problems, Eddie is beset by a crook to whom he has signed away the deeds to the business in payment for a gambling debt, the complete desertion of the staff except for a half-witted maid, an erring and pompous brother and his suspicious wife, Nancy’s Scottish, anti-nudist husband, a troubled quick-change artist who keeps appearing in various guises, and an Oxfam volunteer who simply collects any clothing that is left unguarded.
Once again, and due to overwhelming popular demand, Ullenhall Players will perform their usual signature piece of performing the entire show again, after the curtain falls, in just two minutes' flat.
Performances take place from Wednesday to Saturday, May 7-10 (7.30pm start).
Tickets priced £9.50 (with concessions), along with further information, are available from www.redditchpalacetheatre.co.uk or the box office on 01527 65203. There is a first night special offer of buy one £9.50 ticket and get one free. All proceeds go to local charities.
